Welcome to GBG Forschungs GmbH and thank you for your interest in working for us.
We offer flexible working hours and are also open to part-time employment. All our staff, including the management team, take their annual leave as well as parental leave where applicable, and return to work feeling relaxed and invigorated. We work from home if and when it makes sense to do so. Once a year, we invite our entire staff and their families to a summer fête, and as the year draws to a close, we all come together for our annual Christmas party.
Staff at GBG Forschungs GmbH and the German Breast Group work hand in hand on a daily basis in an effort to cure breast cancer. They develop innovative therapy approaches that help breast cancer patients. Why not use your skills to assist us in our research? There are lots of good reasons for joining our team at the GBG.
We carry out our research on an independent, professional basis to the highest possible quality standards. In the interests of achieving our goals, we are always seeking to recruit staff who are passionate about applying their expertise. As an academic research organisation, we conduct breast cancer studies that are academically orientated and investigator-initiated. Our mission is to continually improve the quality of the treatment options available.
We are one of the world’s leading breast cancer research institutes. With more than 40,000 trial participants, the German Breast Group is the largest breast cancer study group in Germany. We cooperate with distinguished partners and have an extensive international network.
We are involved in a wide range of activities. If you choose to work for us, you will have the opportunity to make optimal use of your own personal talents and skills. As a highly specialised research institute, we employ a multidisciplinary team that works on the successful realisation of our research projects.
We realise the importance of treating each other with respect. At our company, you can expect to find a strong team spirit and flat hierarchies. A working atmosphere based on mutual esteem is a decisive factor in the high quality of our research results.
We promote continual staff development by offering a wide range of regular training programmes for staff at all levels. Successful research calls for a good team with first-rate skills.
We provide the support you need right from day one. During your personal induction period, you will have time to familiarise yourself with your field of responsibility, and a mentor will be on hand to offer any advice you may need. With the help of your own personal development plan and our constructive feedback culture, you will be able to track your own progress on a continual basis.
We pay a performance-related salary. In addition, we reward the creativity of our staff by means of our innovation prize: every three months, you will have the chance to earn special recognition for your work.
We give you all the time you need. Our core working hours enable staff to plan team activities efficiently. However, we also offer flexible working arrangements so that you can reconcile your professional responsibilities with your personal commitments – even in challenging life situations.
We take an active interest in your health, which is why we offer you annual medical check-ups and help promote your health awareness by means of regular expert lectures. For us as a study group, preventive medicine is not only part of our field of research, but also part of our company philosophy.
Our staff are encouraged to participate in sporting activities. We offer you financial assistance if you wish to acquire the German Sports Badge awarded by the German Olympic Sports Association (Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund ─ DOSB). In addition, we form our own team to participate in the “Race for the Cure”, the sponsored run in aid of the breast cancer charity “Susan G. KOMEN Deutschland e.V.”
